Since its publication, Nancy Merrick’s book has been drawing attention, heralding the fact that chimpanzees are rapidly disappearing, and that now is the critical time to change course. Based on her experiences with sanctuaries and field research in East Africa, Merrick is giving voice to the quickly changing landscape, and helping us understand what we can and must do to drive change.
Through interviews and lectures, and on public, private, and academic stages, she reminds us that all of our actions have consequences that can affect even the distant chimpanzee forests of Africa.
